Conference will focus on 'green building'

More than 200 engineers, developers and city, state and federal officials will gather at the Hawai'i Convention Center on May 8-9 for the Hawai'i Green Building Conference.The event will explore environmentally friendly advances in construction and city planning. The session on May 8 will center on "green communities" and affordable housing.
On May 9, there will be three concurrent sessions, one on residential green building, a second on commercial green building and a third on recycling construction materials.
Registration costs $190 for the full conference. Registration fees include continental breakfast and a buffet lunch.
The event runs from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days.
In addition to the sessions, there will be an expo of environmentally friendly building and home products.
