Power restored to Waipahu homes; street reopens

Power has been restored to 1,800 homes in Waipahu that lost power at 5 a.m. when a garbage truck knocked out a utility pole.The accident occurred at 94-245 Leoku St., near the post office, but no injuries were reported.
Police have reopened the road now that lines have been cleared by Hawaiian Electric.
