OIA girls water polo tournament begins today

The O'ahu Interscholastic Association water polo tournament begins this afternoon with quarterfinal play at Brigham Young-Hawai'i and Kaimuki High School.

All four winners of today's games will receive berths to the state tournament.

The semifinals are scheduled for Friday at Kaimuki. The third-place and championship games will be held at Central O'ahu Regional Park on Saturday.

Hawai'i Prep, which finished the Big Island Interscholastic Federation regular-season with a 10-0 record, has already earned a berth to the eight-team tournament.

Today's quarterfinals

At Brigham Young University-Hawai'i

3 p.m.—No. 1 Kahuku (12-0) vs. No. 8 McKinley (4-8)

4:15 p.m.—No. 4 Kalani (9-3) vs. No. 5 Leilehua (7-5)

At Kaimuki High School

3:30 p.m.—No. 3 Kapolei (10-2) vs. No. 6 Mililani (7-5)

4:45 p.m.—No. 2 Roosevelt (11-1) vs. No. 7 Kaimuki (7-5)

Friday's semifinals

At Kaimuki High School

3:30 p.m.—Kapolei-Mililani winner vs. Roosevelt-Kaimuki winner

4:45 p.m.—Kahuku-McKinley winner vs. Kalani-Leilehua winner

Saturday

At Central O'ahu Regional Park

3 p.m.—Third place game

4:30 p.m.—Championship game
