Omaha-based firm acquires Hawaii Pacific Engineers

HDR, an Omaha-based architecture, engineering and consulting firm, said it's acquired Hawaii Pacific Engineers, a Honolulu-based civil engineering firm that has specialized in infrastructure, waste water and water projects.

Terms were not disclosed. Frank Hino, president of Hawaii Pacific Engineers, said the firm has had a long-standing relationship with HDR staff. He will become vice president and department manager for HDR's engineering operations in Hawaii.

HDR employs about 6,000 professionals in 141 offices worldwide. Its Hawai'i operation will be named HDR|Hawaii Pacific Engineers.
