A Kailua man arrested for a firearm offense and assault stemming from an early morning fight today at a convenience store on Keolu Drive is also under investigation for a home invasion robbery that occurred April 27 in Kane'ohe.

The man, 31, was booked today at 3:25 a.m. for possession of an unloaded rifle and second-degree assault when he was identified at noon as a suspect in the robbery case.

Police said the robbery occurred when a 33-year-old man was confronted by two men after answering a front-door knock at 5:30 a.m. One of the intruders was carrying a rifle or shotgun.

The home invasion suspect was involved in a fight with a 35-year-old man today. He allegedly tried to use the butt of a rifle and then a baseball bat to strike the older man, who took both weapons away from him.

The suspect was arrested at 25 Kane'ohe Bay Drive.
