NCAA Division II tennis berths at stake today

Three berths to the NCAA Division II tennis national finals will be on the line today in three West Regional second-round matches.

In two separate women's matches, top-ranked and defending national champion Brigham Young University-Hawai'i (28-0) will host No. 31 Hawai'i Hilo (14-12) at 1 p.m, while No. 18 Hawai'i Pacific (15-4) will host No. 23 UC San Diego (14-8) at 2 p.m. at Central O'ahu Regional Park.

Both BYUH and HPU received first-round byes, while UH Hilo defeated No. 40 Cal State Los Angeles 5-3 yesterday in La'ie in the first round. UC San Diego advanced by beating Sonoma State 5-1 on Saturday in La Jolla, Calif.

HPU defeated UC San Diego 8-1 on March 26 in La Jolla.

On the men's side, No. 12 BYUH (11-2) will host No. 21 HPU (12-4) at 9 a.m. for a national berth. Both teams had first-round byes.

The 16-team national finals are scheduled for next Wednesday through Saturday at Altamonte Springs, Fla.
