Advertiser Staff

Big Island police are asking for help in identifying the people responsible for damage to several bus stops in the Hawaiian Beaches subdivision in Puna.

Puna patrol officers responded to a criminal property damage call on the morning of April 25. Community members reported damage to several bus stops along Kahakai Boulevard. Police investigators believe a vehicle may have been used to cause the damage.

Community leaders have made immediate repairs to the bus stops and a reward for information directly leading to the arrest of the vandals is being offered.

Anyone with information about the vandalism can call the lead investigator, officer Jenny Lee, or Community Policing Officer John Briski at (808) 966-5835.
