Waimanalo comfort station to close for 9 days

The city will close the comfort station at Waimanalo Beach Park for nine days — May 16-25 — to upgrade the facility in preparation for summer.The camp site will also be closed during that period, but the park will remain open for day users.
Work on the comfort station includes repairing and replacing fixtures, painting, and applying a sealant to the facility to make it easier to clean.
During the repairs, portable restrooms and the park's other permanent comfort station will be available.
Camping permits for the area that include Memorial Day weekend will be available from May 11.
