Thursday's first-round results

Kalaheo 40, Mililani 35

Shanadee Canon scored 22 points and the Mustangs (6-7), the OIA East's fourth seed, used a 15-8 fourth quarter to eliminate the Trojans (3-10), the OIA West's fifth seed, with a victory at Pearl City's gym.

Kalaheo will face Radford (11-1), the top seed from the OIA West, in the quarterfinals tomorrow at Mililani.

Chelsea Basilio had nine points in the loss.

Kahuku 59, Kapolei 48

Taeja Afalava scored 19 points and McZeen Ale added 17 to lead the Red Raiders (5-8), the fifth seed from the OIA East, past the Hurricanes at Farrington's gym.

Tahnee Foki had 17 points for Kapolei (5-8), the fourth seed from the OIA West.

Kahuku will face Roosevelt (11-1), the top seed from the OIA East, in the quarterfinals tomorrow at Roosevelt.

Farrington 48, Nanakuli 28

C'ani Kealoha and Elaine Leaupepe scored 11 points apiece and the host Governors (9-4), the OIA East's third seed, beat the Golden Hawks (3-10).

Farrington will face 'Aiea, the OIA West's second seed, tomorrow at Roosevelt in a quarterfinal match.

Sasha Montez had 10 points for Nanakuli, the sixth seed from the OIA West.

Moanalua 43, Pearl City 31

Na Menehune, the sixth seed out of the OIA East, defeated the host Chargers, the third seed out of the OIA West.

Moanalua will face Kalani, the second seed out of the OIA East, tomorrow at Mililani in a semifinal match.
