Longs Drugs reports slight increase in sales nationwide

Longs Drug Stores Corp., the largest operator of drug stores in Hawaii, said sales at stores open at least a year rose 0.2 percent in April because of a decline in non-pharmacy sales.The company said total sales from continuing operations, including older locations and new stores, were $364.8 million, an increase of 3.6 percent compared to a year earlier. Longs operates more than 489 stores on the West Coast and in Hawai'i.
