KAILUA
Marsh cleanup set for Sunday

Advertiser Staff

The monthly Kailua "quick and dirty" cleanup will be held from from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday alongside Hamakua Marsh in downtown Kailua.

Volunteers are asked to meet behind the building at Kailua Road and Kainehe Street.

Organizers hope to have at least one boat available to work in the waterways. Otherwise, all work will be done on the stream's banks.

No one will be working in Hamakua Marsh itself because birds are nesting.

The event is being held a week earlier than usual to avoid a conflict with Mother's Day.
