Nearly a dozen students and one teacher were overcome at Kahuku High and Intermediate School yesterday afternoon after fumes from a pesticide being sprayed by a farmer drifted over the campus, said Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department.
Most of the students and the teacher were examined or treated on the school grounds and released following the 1:20 p.m. incident, he said.
Three girls and a boy, ranging from 12 to 16 years old, were taken to Kahuku Hospital in stable condition for further treatment or observation, he said.
