Pearl City captures OIA baseball title

Pearl City defeated Kailua, 11-1, today to win the O'ahu Interscholastic Association baseball title at Central O'ahu Regional Park.

Both teams qualified for the Wally Yonamine Foundation state baseball tournament, May 9 to 12, at Les Murakami Stadium.

MILILANI 8, KAISER 1

Ian Lee, Ray Sugihara and Dustin Antolin combined on a six-hitter and the Trojans (10-3) tallied 16 hits to beat the Cougars (9-5) in the OIA third-place game yesterday at Central O'ahu Regional Park.

Antolin, Adam Schroeder, Kylen Cadiam, Travis Jones, John Abreu and AJ Pearson had two hits apiece for Mililani. Joe Honma had a double for Kaiser.

KALANI 10, ROOSEVELT 3

Ridge Carpenter batted 3 for 4 with a double and triple, and he also drove in four runs and stole two bases as the Falcons (10-3) pounced on the Rough Riders (8-4-1) in the OIA fifth-place game yesterday at Central O'ahu Regional Park.

Kalani starter Micah Takahashi allowed seven hits and three walks, and struck out seven in his complete-game win. Jason Lee added two hits and Shamus Kumashiro had two RBIs for Kalani.

Roosevelt's Keoni Manago went 3 for 4 with two stolen bases.
