2 injured after motorcycle is rear-ended in Waipahu

Advertiser Staff

A 25-year-old man and his 26-year-old girlfriend were injured late Friday night when the motorcycle they were riding was rear-ended by a pickup truck in Waipahu.

Emergency responders said the motorcyclists were thrown an estimated 20-30 feet and landed on the road surface of the ramp that connects the west-bound lanes of Farrington Highway with the north-bound lanes of Kunia Road.

The crash occurred behind the Baskin-Robbins ice cream store in Waipahu Town Center about 11:40 p.m.

The motorcycle operator and his passenger were taken to the Queen's Medical Center by city paramedics with injuries that police said did not appear to be life-threatening.
