McLachlin shoots 69, Wilson 72 at Wachovia tourney

Honolulu native Parker McLachlin shot his best round of the PGA's Wachovia Championship today, a 3-under-par 69 at Quail Hollow Country Club in Charlotte, N.C.

McLachlin was at 1-under 215 and in the middle of the pack entering tomorrow's final round. Rory Sabbatini, who tied a course record with a 64, was at 11-under 205 and will be in the final group with Tiger Woods (68), was one shot behind.

Kane'ohe's Dean Wilson shot a 72 and was at 219.

McLachlin, a tour rookie, opened with a bogey on the par-4 first hole, but then got birdies on Nos. 3, 7, 8 and 15.

Wilson bogeyed Nos. 7 and 12, but made consecutive birdies on Nos. 13-15. He gave back a shot with a bogey on the final hole.
