Ka Makani win BIIF girls water polo title

Kim Kopra scored the game-winning goal with 52 seconds left to help the top-seeded Hawai'i Prep girls water polo team win the Big Island Interscholastic Federation tournament title with a 13-12 victory over No. 2 Kamehameha Hawai'i on Saturday at the Kona Community Aquatic Center.Kopra led Ka Makani (12-0) with five goals, and Alex Eason scored four.
The Warriors' Kanoe Lyons missed a shot attempt as time expired. Lyons led the Warriors (9-3) with seven goals. All three of Kamehameha Hawai'i's losses this season have come to Hawai'i Prep.
Both teams had already earned berths to the state tournament prior to Saturday's game.
