Woman charged for Pu'unui rampage

Prosecutors today charged a woman for allegedly breaking into and ransacking a house Saturday in Pu'unui.

Jing Pei, 36, of an Analu Street address is charged with first-degree burglary. Her bail is $11,000.

Police described Pei as "out of control" when she allegedly grabbed a female college student living in a rented unit in front of Pei's makeshift house for no apparent reason.

Pei left but returned and kicked the door of the unit open, forcing two female roomates, ages 22 and 25, to flee to a neighbor's house through a back window.

The two women watched as Pei ransacked the unit and took two laptops.

Pei was outside the unit with the laptops when a neighbor carrying a baseball bat ordered her to stop as police arrived.
