Police investigating man for ax threat

A 48-year-old Nanakuli man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of threatening a woman with an ax and damaging a parked car.

No charges have been filed against the man, who remained in police custody at the main cellblock today following his arrest yesterday at 2 p.m.

A woman, 37, told police the man threatened and chased her with an ax in hand, and damaged a car.

While being booked for first-degree terroristic threatening and fourth-degree criminal propert damage at the Kapolei cellblock, police found him in possession of marijuana.

He was also booked for third-degree promotion of detrimental drugs.

According to Hawai'i Criminal Justice Data Center records, the man has seven prior convictions.
