Four state tournaments this week

The spring championship season begins with four state tournaments this week on three islands.

The Hawai'i High School Athletic Association state girls golf championship begins Tuesday at the Waikoloa Kings' Course on the Big Island. The state baseball tournament starts on Wednesday at Les Murakami Stadium, while the state boys and girls tennis tournaments begin on the same day on Maui. The girls water polo tourney starts Thursday at Central O'ahu Regional Park.

HHSAA girls golf championship

Tuesday-Wednesday, Waikoloa Kings' Course

HHSAA baseball championship

Wednesday-Saturday, Les Murakami Stadium and Central O'ahu Regional Park (two consolation games on Friday and seventh-place game on Saturday)

Qualifying teams—Waiakea, Kamehameha Hawai'i, Hilo, Punahou, Kaua'i, St. Anthony, Kamehameha Maui, Pearl City, Kailua, Kaiser, Mililani, Kalani. Punahou is the three-time defending champion.

HHSAA boys and girls tennis championships

Wednesday-Saturday, Wailea Tennis Center, Makena Prince Tennis Courts and Kalama Park

HHSAA girls water polo championship

Thursday-Saturday, Central O'ahu Regional Park

Qualifying team—Hawai'i Prep, Kamehameha Hawai'i, Lahainaluna, Kahuku, Kapolei, Roosevelt, Leilehua. 'Iolani will face Punahou for the final berth this week.
