'Low-rider' convoy appears to be headed for North Shore

Advertiser Staff

Police are keeping a wary eye on as man as 70 low-slug import cars that were seen entering Wahiawa at about 12:45 this morning.

Police officers who were monitoring the convoy said the drivers appeared to be headed for the North Shore.

It is not uncommon nowdays for the owners of "tricked out" Honda's and other import cars to gather en masse to cruise to different parts of O'ahu on weekend nights.

Police often monitor the gatherings to make sure the mostly youthful drivers abide by the posted speed limit and other traffic laws.
