UH's Daly named WAC pitcher of the week

UH Matt Daly, who pitched a one-hitter win Friday over UH-Hilo, was today named WAC pitcher of the week.

University of Hawai'i pitcher Matt Daly was named the Western Athletic Conference pitcher of the week, the conference office announced today.

Daly, a sophomore from Yorba Linda, Calif., pitched a one-hitter in the complete-game 8-0 victory over UH-Hilo Friday.

He took a no-hitter into the ninth inning.

Nevada first baseman Shaun Kort was named the WAC hitter of the week for an 11-of-17 showing against Louisiana Tech.

Justin Frash was UH's nominee.
