ILH winner to be top seed in state water polo tourney

The Interscholastic League of Honolulu champion will receive the top seed at this week's Hawai'i High School Athletic Association girls water polo championship.'Iolani (6-1) will host Punahou (5-2) for the ILH tournament title today at 6 p.m. If regular-season champion 'Iolani wins tonight's game, the Raiders will earn the league's only berth to the state tournament.
If Punahou wins tonight, both teams will play tomorrow at Kamehameha for the league title and state berth.
The state tournament opens Thursday at Central O'ahu Regional Park. Three of the league champions are undefeated. Second-seeded Kahuku (O'ahu Interscholastic Association, 15-0) will face Leilehua (8-7), the OIA's fourth-place team. Third-seeded Hawai'i Prep (Big Island Interscholastic Federation, 12-0) will face Roosevelt (13-2). the OIA's third-place team. Fourth-seeded Lahainaluna (Maui Interscholastic League, 8-0) will face OIA runner-up Kapolei (12-3). The ILH champion will face BIIF runner-up Kamehameha-Hawai'i (9-3).
The championship game is scheduled for Saturday.
