Kalani will be depicted in a 60-second segment that will appear intermittently on the Cartoon Network (Oceanic 440) today through May 27, with viewers voting online for their favorites.
Six winning finalists will be showcased in an hour-long primetime special to air in September.
"When I got the call telling me that I had been selected to appear on television, I just couldn't believe it," said Kalani, in a Cartoon Network release. "I'm really flattered to have been chosen alongside these other kids as well. They are all awesome.
"I'll look forward to learning whether or not I've been picked for the one-hour special — until then, all my fingers are crossed!"
