12 complete HPD business academy course

Advertiser Staff

A cab driver, property manager and loss-prevention director are among 12 people graduating tomorrow from the Honolulu Police Department's "Business Police Academy."

BPA is a 10-week course modeled after the department's "Citizens Police Academy." The BPA focus is on crimes that directly affect businesses such as forgery, credit-card fraud, shoplifting, employee theft, robbery, security alarm systems, and workplace violence.

This is the fifth class to complete the program. The class will be recognized at 6:30 p.m. on the second-floor courtyard of HPD's Alapa'i headquarters building.
