Chris Lam wins opening singles tennis match in Florida

After winning his first professional title Saturday, Honolulu's Chris Lam captured his opening-round singles match today at the $10,000 Garber Automall Pro Classic, in Orange Park, Fla.Lam defeated Martin Fabrice, of France, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2. He will play the winner of the match between Australian Carsten Ball and Ryler De Heart — Lam's doubles partner — in the second round.
