Hawaiian Host introduces new Kona Caramacs

HONOLULU — Hawai'i's original chocolate-covered macadamia nut candy manufacturer Hawaiian Host Inc. announced the launch of its new product, Kona Caramacs™. Similar to Maui Caramacs®, one of Hawaiian Host®'s most popular taste treats, the Kona Caramacs™ feature delicate dry-roasted macadamia nuts smothered in smooth, soft caramel and covered with rich milk chocolate mixed with a Kona coffee blend.

"We're excited to be introducing Kona Caramacs™," said Keith Sakamoto, president of Hawaiian Host Inc. "The combination of Maui Caramacs® with a blend of Kona coffee is sure to be a hit with chocolate, caramel and coffee lovers," he added.

The Kona Caramacs™ are available in a 5-ounce, 10-piece box at a suggested manufacturer's retail price of $2.79 and as a .95-ounce, two-piece trial-size bars at a suggested manufacturer's retail price of 79 cents. Both sizes are available at participating Long's, Wal-Mart, Don Quijote, ABC Stores and other Hawai'i retailers. Hawaiian Host® is also offering a coupon worth 80 cents off of a single Kona Caramacs™ box when one Maui Caramacs® box is purchased at the same time. The coupon can be found on store shelves displaying Kona Caramacs™.
