Trade winds blowing in scattered showers this week

The fresh trade winds and the typical rainfall pattern they bring with them are expected to continue through the middle of the week as a strong high-pressure system remains north of the state, according to the National Weather Service.

Showers will favor Windward and mountain areas, forecasters said.

The winds will likely decline later in the week and into the weekend.

Here's a closer look at what to expect during the next few days:

  • Today — sunny with isolated showers. Highs: 78 degrees to 86 degrees. East winds, 10 mph to 20 mph. Chance of rain: 20 percent.

  • Tonight — partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows: 64 degrees to 73 degrees. Northeast winds, 10 mph to 20 mph. Chance of rain: 20 percent.

  • Wednesday — sunny with isolated showers. Highs: 76 degrees to 84 degrees. East winds, 10 mph to 20 mph. Chance of rain: 20 percent.

  • Wednesday night — partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows: 64 degrees to 73 degrees. East winds, 10 mph to 15 mph. Chance of rain: 20 percent.

  • Thursday — mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs: 78 degrees to 86 degrees. East winds, 10 mph to 15 mph. Chance of rain: 20 percent.

  • Thursday night — partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows: 64 degrees to 73 degrees. East winds, 10 mph to 15 mph. Chance of rain: 20 percent.
