A 36-year-old man who was the subject of a CrimeStoppers bulletin earlier this week was arrested in Waikiki about 7 p.m. yesterday following a tip given to police.

John L. Borges was arrested on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle and a probation revocation warrant.

Police said Borges was identified as the operator of a stolen moped that was involved in a motor vehicle collision about 12:30 p.m. March 14.

Borges, who was injured in the collision, was taken to a hospital for treatment. It was discovered after Borges was released from the hospital that the moped was stolen, police said.
