Advertiser Staff

Farrington Highway near the Waste Water Treatment Plant heading into Wai'anae has been reopened following a single-car accident.

After 5 a.m. a 21-year-old male and a 20-year-old female crashed the sedan into a pole.

Emergency Service spokesman Bryan Cheplic said the jaws of life were used to extract the male, who was driving.

Both he and the female passenger were wearing seatbelts. The man was initially listed in critical condition, but has since been upgraded to serious. The woman is also in serious condition.

Both were taken to The Queen's Medical Center.
