Ethnobotanist offers 'Canoe Plants' lecture

Ethnobotanist Isabella A. Abbott will discuss "Canoe Plants: The Early Immigrants" at 6:30 p.m. May 17 at Bishop Museum's Atherton Halau.

The "Traditions of the Pacific" lecture will discuss early immigrant plants, such as kalo (taro), 'uala (sweet potato),'ulu (breadfruit), and uhi (yam), plant species that were introduced by the first Polynesian settlers.
