Construction workers capture robber

By Rod Ohira

A man fleeing from a botched robbery ran into more unexpected trouble today when he entered a construction site.

Workers at the undisclosed Ala Moana-area site captured the man, who police said required medical attention at a nearby hospital for minor injuries.

The suspect, 42, was booked for second-degree robbery at 3 p.m.

Police said the man allegedly tried to rob a 41-year-old woman who works as a parking lot attendant next to the construction site.

The suspect demanded money by threatening to hurt her. The woman struggled with the robber, who then fled without any stolen money into the construction site.
