Police probe hammer theft

Big Island police are seeking information about the person responsible for the theft of a hydraulic hammer stolen March 12 from a construction site near the 13-mile marker on Route 190 in Waimea.

A black extra-cab pickup truck was seen near the hydraulic hammer the day before it was reported missing. The equipment is valued at $50,000.
