Western Week rides in May 19

Advertiser Staff

Hawai'i's cowboys and Hamakua's hospitality will be on display when Western Week kicks off with the Paniolo Parade in Honoka'a on May 19.

Honoka'a will be filled that day with sidewalk sales, artists, crafts and food vendors selling their best during the Olde Time Paniolo Market Day.

There also will be a "Keiki Corral," with music, games, drawings, a petting zoo, food and fun booths.

At the Honoka'a People's Theater, paniolo will talk story and offer demonstrations of kalaili, or rawhide rope weaving, and saddle-making techniques.

For more information about the day and the week call (808) 933-9772.
