Work on pipe will shut water

Advertiser Staff

Areas of Kihei will be without water from 9 p.m. tomorrow until 6 a.m. Friday while contractors move a 36-inch waterline along Mokulele Highway as part of a road-widening project.

The Department of Water Supply said the affected streets are Hoalike, Hale Kai, Nanakai and Lauloa streets, Auhana Road, Aluna Place and Auina Place. The rest of Kihei, including Maui Meadows, Wailea and Makena, may experience low water pressure during this period.

The waterline is the primary source of water for South Maui, and all customers are urged to conserve water by turning off irrigation systems and other uses tomorrow night.
