Three people were taken to The Queen's Medical Center following a two-vehicle collision this morning that resulted in the closure of Kalihi and Kalani streets for about 50 minutes.

A 52-year-old man driving one of the vehicles and a 50-year-old woman passenger were reported to be in serious but stable condition upon arrival at the hospital, said Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department. A second passenger, also a 50-year-old woman, was listed in stable condition upon arriving at Queen's, Cheplic said.

The accident occurred just after 6:30 a.m. All lanes were reopened at about 7:20 a.m.

Emergency Services, Honolulu Police Department and the Honolulu Fire Department officials were sent to the scene where one of the vehicles involved in the crash had overturned. A utility pole was knocked down in connection with the collision.
