Much of Kihei to be without water today

Advertiser Staff

Customers in Kihei will be without water from 9 a.m. today until 6 a.m. tomorrow while while contractors move the 36-inch waterline along Mokulele Highway for a road widening project.

The water outages will affect Hoalike Street, Hale Kai Street, Nanakai Street, Lauloa Street, Auhana Road, Aluna Place and Auina Place. The rest of Kihei, including Maui Meadows, Wailea, and Makena may experience low water pressure.

The 36-inch waterline is the primary source for the area, and all customers are urged to conserve water by turning off irrigation systems and other nonessential uses of water during the move.
