'Punched' car ignition leads to arrest

A 40-year-old 'Ewa Villages man was arrested this morning after police found him driving a car that had been reported stolen.

A patrol officer order the man to pull over about 5:30 a.m. near the intersection of Nale and Tenny streets to issue a citation for a traffic violation. Police said the officer noticed the car's ignition had been "punched" and checked to see if the car had been reported as stolen.

After learning the car was on the stolen vehicle list, the officer arrested the driver on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.

Car-ramming incident leads to arrest

A 31-year-old man with no local address was arrested yesterday after he allegedly used his car to ram a car being driven by his estranged wife.

Police were told the wife had gone to a Kahuku-area school to pick up her children about 12:25 p.m. when her husband pulled alongside hers and the two exchanged words.

Police were told the husband got upset at what was said and drove his car into the side of his wife's vehicle, pushing it up against a curb.

The husband left the area before officers arrived, but was located a few hours later and arrested on suspicion of first-degree criminal property damage.

Teen arrested in connection to reported kitchen-knife threat

An 18-year-old 'Ewa Beach woman was arrested yesterday evening after she allegedly came at her 37-year-old stepfather with two large kitchen knives and threatened to kill him.

Police were told the stepfather managed to disarm the woman, but received minor injuries in the process.

Police were called to the home and arrested the woman on suspicion of first-degree terroristic-threatening.

Both knives were located and recovered, police said.

Woman arrested in tie to reported robbery in Waikiki condo

Police arrested a 21-year-old woman in Waikiki early yesterday morning after she allegedly stabbed and robbed a 33-year-old man.

The man told police he had just met the woman and invited her into his condominium on Ohua Avenue.

Police were sent to the condominium about 1:30 a.m. in response to a report of a woman screaming for help.

The man later told police the woman had stolen money from him and that he was trying to detain her until police arrived. He said a struggle ensued and the woman stabbed him in the ankle with a small pocket knife, causing a superficial wound to his leg.

Police arrested the woman on suspicion of first-degree robbery.

Man arrested after knife-threat incident

Police arrested a 59-year-old man at a self-storage facility in Kapolei yesterday morning after he allegedly threatened officers with a knife and tried to lure them into shooting him.

Patrol officers were sent to the storage facility on a trespass complaint and were confronted by the man, who was holding a knife, police said. Police subdued the man after he reportedly refused to drop the knife.

The man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of first-degree terroristic threatening and was then taken to The Queen's Medical Center for observation.
