Board to advise on parks' hours

Advertiser Staff

The 'Ewa Neighborhood Board will announce at its meeting tonight it will recommend that the city close all but two of the seven parks in 'Ewa from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., board chairman Kurt Fevella said. The board will recommend that 'Ewa Beach Park and Pu'uloa Neighborhood Park close from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

After residents complained, the board voted in February to recommend that all seven close from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The board altered its position after other residents argued they were too limited, Fevella said.

A final decision on each of the facilities ultimately will be made by Parks Director Lester Chang.
