Officials representing the Fields Open in Hawaii LPGA golf tournament presented checks totaling $70,000 to two Hawaii charities: the Friends of Hawaii Charities and Ko Olina Charities.

Both organizations focus on assisting Hawaii's needy, from contributing to youth and community groups, to providing visitor industry educational and training opportunities for residents of the leeward coast.

"We are humbled to be able to support the work of Friends of Hawaii Charities and Ko Olina Charities. Their contributions to this community are unsurpassed and their commitment to improving the lives of many of Hawaii's families is a passion that we share," said Jack Sakazaki, president of Japan Sports Marketing Inc and Vice-Chairman of the Fields Open in Hawaii. "We look forward to continuing these partnerships in the coming years."

Friends of Hawaii Charities brings together financial resources from the private sector and spirited volunteerism from the community, with the extraordinary natural resources of the state to produce sports and cultural events that generate funds for qualifying not-for-profit endeavors in Hawaii benefiting its women, children, youth, and needy. Ko Olina Charities was created by Ko Olina Resort Marina to assist community development and to provide meaningful educational and training opportunities for the residents of leeward Oahu.

Stacy Prammanasudh hung on in dramatic fashion to win the 2007 Fields Open championship with a score of 14-under par 202.
