OHA grant aids site for farmers

Advertiser Staff

A University of Hawai'i-Hilo agribusiness professor has won a grant for work on a Web site to assist Native Hawaiian farmers with management and marketing.

Sabry Shehata was awarded $39,924 from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs to help farmers with cost analysis and needs assessment.

Shehata developed a Web site to train small-scale Native Hawaiian growers in such areas as business planning, budgeting, financial management, and e-commerce marketing, and the OHA grant will finance further work on the project.

For more information, visit www.hawaiianagriculturalproducts.com or contact Shehata at (808) 933-0856.
