Development forum Monday

Advertiser Staff

A free public forum on "Wailea 670 and South Maui Development: How Much Is Too Much?" will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Kihei Community Center.

The event, sponsored by the Maui Tomorrow Foundation and www.SaveMakena.org, will discuss the impact of proposed developments on traffic, water use, affordable housing, and environmental and cultural protection. The Wailea 670 project, renamed Honua'ula, includes 1,400 housing units and a golf course.

Panelists include Earthjustice attorney Isaac Moriwake, Ed Lindsey of Maui Cultural Lands and Lee Altenberg of the Native Hawaiian Plant Society.
