Keep an eye out for jellyfish today

Advertiser Staff

Swimmers should still look out for box jellyfish in the water today.

The monthly influx peaked yesterday and tapered off today. One jellyfish was found off Waikiki Beach this morning.

Still, lifeguards said those allergic to jellyfish should stay out of the water or be on the lookout for jellyfish.

During the influx, the jellyfish most often can be found off Waikiki Beach.

They are also often spotted in Hanauma Bay, Poka'i Bay and Waimea Bay.

Hanauma Bay was closed yesterday because of the jellyfish influx, but it was reopened today after no jellyfish were found in an early-morning assessment.
