WAILUKU — Erin Trevino scored 15 points to help the Lana'i High School girls basketball team defeat Moloka'i, 33-24, yesterday at War Memorial Gym in a Maui Interscholastic League Division II playoff game, giving the Pine Lasses their first-ever state tournament berth.

Lana'i (7-5) swept Moloka'i (8-6) twice last week at home, but lost to the Farmers in the MIL tournament semifinals on Wednesday.

The Pine Lasses became the last team to clinch a spot in the 12-team tournament that begins Tuesday.

Also at War Memorial, Lahainaluna defeated Maui, 40-38, to claim the MIL Division I overall title.
