"Spider-Man 3" just isn't your thing? There are indie alternatives to the multiplex:

  • "The Story of the Weeping Camel" (2003) screens at 2, 4, 6 and 8 p.m. tomorrow at the Movie Museum in Kaimuki. It's the story of a family of herders in Mongolia and the crisis that ensues when a mother camel rejects her newborn. It's subtitled. 735-8771.

  • "Snow Cake" (2006) continues its run at 1, 4 and 7:30 p.m. today and tomorrow (and at 7:30 p.m. Monday; 1 and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday) at the Doris Duke Theatre.

Drama and humor mix in this must-see film starring Sigourney Weaver as an autistic woman. It's a shock to see "Alien's" Ripley giggling on a trampoline and rolling in the snow, but Weaver is superb as a woman who can't "do social." Alan Rickman as a man fleeing from his past and Carrie-Ann Moss as the louche neighbor complete the unlikely trio in Wawa, Canada. 532-8700.
