You can help your mail carrier stamp out hunger

Advertiser Staff

This is the day to leave non-perishable foods at your mailbox to help feed Hawai'i’s hungry.

Today is the day to do your part to help others in need. The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, a project of the National Association of Letter Carriers, last year brought in more than 70 million pounds of food nationwide — reaching that mark for the third year in a row. In Hawai'i, more than 385,000 pounds of food was collected.

So today, leave nonperishable food in bags next to your mailbox. Your letter carriers will cart it away, and it ends up at the Hawaii Foodbank.
