Man charged with assaulting police

A 52-year-old man has been charged with three misdemeanor counts of second-degree assault on a police officer stemming from an incident Friday at Hulumanu Street and Halawa Heights Road at 7:44 p.m.

Details of the incident leading to the arrest were unavailable.

In addition to the assault counts, Warren Ejercito was also charged with resisting arrest. Bail was set at $2,000 for each count.

Ejercito has 10 prior convictions, according to Hawai'i Criminal Justice Data Center records.
