Advertiser Staff

A B-52 bomber from the 20th Bomb Squadron in Louisiana landed at Hickam Air Force Base today, according to the Barksdale Air Force Base public affairs office.

The flight from Barksdale Air Force Base, La., to Hickam is one leg of a routine deployment rotation and will serve as a crew rest and refueling point for the aircraft personnel, the Air Force said.

The B-52 is a long-range, heavy bomber that can perform a variety of missions. The bomber is capable of flying at high subsonic speeds at altitudes up to 50,000 feet. When necessary, this aircraft also has the capability to be refueled while in flight.
