Wendland wins U.S. Open local qualifier on Big Island

Alva Wendland shot a 3-under-par 69 today to win the U.S. Open local qualifier at the Waikoloa Kings' Course.Mark Morrison (70) and Sean Maekawa (71) are the alternates for the sectional qualifier next month.
