Native Hawaiian business group to meet Thursday

Experts on ahupua'a restoration and Native Hawaiian arts are the scheduled guest speakers at Thursday's monthly luncheon meeting of the Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce.

Aric Arakaki, National Park Service Superintendent at Ala Kahakai National Historic Trail, will speak about his work on the Island of Hawai'i and in other communities. Arakaki is an expert in ahupua'a restoration and strategic planning for indigenous economic development.

Daniel Kaniala Anthony, a promoter of Native Hawaiian art and artists, will provide an update on the Maoli Arts movement and events that are scheduled for May.

Registration begins at 11:30 a.m at a downtown location. The cost is $15 for NHCC members and $20 for non-members. For more information call Pauline Worsham at 951-5373 or 497-4084.
