Advertiser Staff

The North Shore from Waialua to Turtle Bay could see some $4.5 million spent in the community for capital improvements in the next two years.

The Legislature has approved more than $970 million in state projects for schools, highways, harbors and more.

Waialua Elementary School was appropriated the largest amount for the area, with $2.5 million for a multimedia building.

Legislators also set aside $1.2 million for the realignment of the road at Laniakea Beach, $475,000 for rehabilitation of the Kawailoa Stream Bridge and $350,000 for improvements at the intersection of Kuilima Drive and Kamehameha Highway.
